Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian has warned against downloading the latest game update for PS5.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 is a huge new update coming soon to PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Developer Larian had planned to give fans a preview of the patch via a stress test designed to test cross-platform play.
Unfortunately, however, Patch 8 appears to have gone live early on PlayStation 5, causing some unforseen problems with the game.
Indeed, Larian has told players that PS5 users may experience save issues after downloading the new patch, so it’s probably worth avoiding until an official release.
“No, the Patch 8 stress test hasn’t yet begun,” reads a Larian post on X. “Yes, PS5 players do currently have access to Patch 8.
“While we work with our partners to understand what’s going on, please note that any new saves made while on Patch 8 will not be compatible with Patch 7. How’s your Monday going?”
If you do want to take part in the official stress test, then you can sign up for access by clicking the link below.
In addition to cross-platform gameplay, Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 will introduce new subclasses for Bard, Barbarian, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock and Wizard.
This includes College of Glamour Bard, Cleric of Death, Arcane Archer Fighter and Drunken Master Monk.
Each subclass will have new abilities, animations, VFX, summons and cantrips, as well as unique voiced dialogue lines for the Oathbreaker Knight.
Elsewhere, Larian has announced plans to add a Photo Mode, complete with Lens settings, Scene settings, frames and post processing effects.
“In your hands soon, you’ll be able to take role-play to the next level with unique combinations of poses, stickers, and frames,” Larian confirms.
“We can’t wait to see what absolute nightmare fuel you come up with.”
