If you’ve had your eye on the new Galaxy S24 then be warned. Not only has that award-winning device now been superseded, but it’s also much worse value right now. Stores, including Argos and Currys, are still stocking the S24 at full price as there aren’t any deals currently available. That means you’ll have to stump up the usual £799 asking price.
That might not sound that worrying but there’s a reason why taking the plunge is a terrible idea. The all-new Galaxy S25, which goes on sale this week, is also £799 but Samsung currently has a massive pre-order deal which makes it far more enticing than its older sibling.
As long as you buy before Thursday night, February 6, you can get the bigger 256GB version for the same price as the standard 128GB model.
It’s a saving of £50 and also means you get much more room for your photos, music, movies and apps.

Along with getting more memory for the lower price, there are plenty of other reasons to buy the Galaxy S25 over the Galaxy S24. Firstly, it features a much faster Snapdragon 8 Elite processor which has been especially tuned for Galaxy phones by Qualcomm. This update not only makes the S25 much faster but also far more efficient.
Next, there are some major improvements to Galaxy AI with full integration with Google’s clever Gemini assistant – that means you can chat to the device just like it’s a human.
There’s also ways to quickly summarise contnet, add events to your calendar by simply pointing the camera at a concert ticket or event poster.
It can even show live football scores via the Now Bar and give you a daily briefing including upcoming events, weather and how well you slept.
Better photo editing has also been added and there are now ways to remove background sound on videos using clever AI.
The S25 also gets the same triple lens camera, stunning 6.2-inch screen, impressive design and wireless charging.
