Air fryer salmon bites recipe takes less than 30 minutes to make


Air fryers are a home cook’s best friend, making meal times a smoother experience.

But if you’re bored of making the same old thing, one food creator has got your next air fryer obsession.

Karim, also known as @ice.karimcooks, shared an indulgent recipe for air fryer crispy salmon bites accompanied by a low calorie chipotle sauce.

In a TikTok video from January, Karim said: “Welcome back to my series where I show you that eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring or time consuming.”

If you’re on a healthy eating kick and are interested in the dish’s macros, the meal, without the sauce, for three servings include 586 calories, 46 grams of protein, six grams of carbohydrates, and 39 grams of fat.

Another benefit to Karim’s recipe is that the whole thing takes less than half an hour to make.

Karim’s video has already been viewed over a massive 2.7 million times, receiving 173,800 likes and 253 comments.

So if you’re looking for your next air fryer meal, this is what you’ll need.

Air fryer Crispy Salmon Bites

Ingredients

  • 680g salmon, cut into thick chunks
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs, to dredge (seasoned with same seasonings as above)
  • Avocado oil spray

Healthy Chipotle Sauce

  • 125g plain Greek yogurt
  • 57g light mayonnaise
  • 2 chipotle peppers
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Lime juice
  • 1 garlic bulb
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Method

Start by cutting the salmon into thick cubes, before seasoning with salt and pepper and the rest of the seasonings.

Cover with olive oil and dredge in a dish of panko breadcrumbs until completely coated.

Place the salmon on a lined baking tray, spray with some avocado oil. Air fry at 190℃ for 12 to 13 minutes or bake at 200℃ for 13 to 15 minutes, until golden and crispy.

Place the mayo and Greek yogurt, chipotle peppers, lime juice, garlic, smoked paprika, rice vinegar, honey and salt in a stand blender and blitz until smooth.

Serve the salmon bites with some rice, top with the sauce, and add some spring onions if you’d like.
