Princess Beatrice’s baby daughter tipped to follow her footsteps in sweet family tradition | Royal | News

Princess Beatrice’s newborn daughter, Athena, is tipped to follow a sweet family tradition the Yorks share, according to a royal expert.

The Princess of York gave birth to Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi on Wednesday, January 22, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

Beatrice was due to give birth in early spring. However, her baby daughter came a few weeks early, with both Buckingham Palace and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, sharing the joyous news last week.

Now a royal commentator said that Athena, whose older siblings include three-year-old Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, and Edo’s son and Beatrice’s stepson, eight-year-old Christopher Woolf “Wolfie”, will likely follow in her mother’s footsteps in sharing a special bond with her older sister.

Jennie Bond told OK!: “Having a sister is special. It just is. In good times and bad, it is so often your sisters you turn to.

“Beatrice and Eugenie have had many occasions when their support for one another has been incredibly important.

“I’m sure it is the strength of their sisterhood that has seen them through the crises which have engulfed both their parents over the last decade or so.”

She added: “It’s lovely to see them, grown women now, still so close to one another so I’m absolutely sure that Beatrice‘s greatest wish will be for her two girls to grow up supporting and loving one another.

“They will have a great example to follow in the strong bond that is still obvious between Beatrice and Eugenie who are not just sisters, but best friends.”

Athena is King Charles’s great niece and a new grandchild for the Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York.

She is 11th in line to the throne, and also a niece of Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie.
