Music lovers were “devastated” to see one musician was absent from the Glastonbury Festival line-up this year.
With The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo set to headline the festival, fans looked further down the line-up for other big names.
One omission has left music lovers “gutted” but also praising the other additions to the Worthy Farm-based festival.
A post to the r/GlastonburyFestival Reddit page saw the line-up posted, with the initial run of artists announced featuring familiar names like Weezer and Kaiser Chiefs, as well as brilliant up-and-comers like English Teacher and Kneecap.
Fans were delighted too to see a few acts which were “worth the ticket money on its own”. One user wrote: “Biffy, Deftones, Weezer & Turnstile is great. Worth the ticket money on its own.”
Another complimented the festival for catering to harder rock fans. They wrote: “Absolutely massive for heavier rock representation – always been the one genre that seems under-represented at Glasto, even though the fanbase is so widespread.”
Others were not as pleased about a major omission which had fans wondering if the festival had missed a trick in failing to get them to headline. One wrote: “Where the f**k is Chappell Roan?????”
Another claimed: “R&L is a headliner exclusive, she was supposed to be sub-headlining so she could have still done it. Her label are pushing her to be a headliner so if all goes well with her album release she will probably be headlining in 2027.”
A third shared they were “gutted” after it was teased Roan had been confirmed for the festival on BBC Radio 4. They wrote: “I was listening to Radio 4 and they even played a snippet from Pink Pony Club when they announced the lineup had been released. Little bit gutted.”
Others say the snub is “genuinely devastating” as Grammy winner Chappell Roan would have been a fantastic addition. One wrote: “Right! A little bit devastated.” Another wrote: “Genuinely devastating! I was really hoping she’d be there.”
Excitement for the festival has hit its peak on the subreddit, with many members fawning over the line-up and all the acts on it. One user wrote the clash between Young and Charli may be a problem for some attendees.
One wrote: “Neil vs Charli is interesting… in theory attracting two sets of distinct crowds but the festival skews so much younger these days (I don’t know if it actually does it just feels that way) I could see a Avril [Lavigne] style sardine situation at the Other Stage.”
Another added: “Personally for me the headliners (pyramid) are extremely poor. There’s plenty of other good artists though.”
