A frustrated motorist “gets mad” at a learner driver topping up fuel at a petrol station for the first time ever in a YouTube clip which has gone viral.

Young driver Phoebe was on a lesson with Wolverhampton-based school DGN Driving when the incident happened. 

Phoebe had never filled up a vehicle with fuel before and was being talked through the process slowly by instructor Pin Binning.

Phoebe was rearranging the position of her car to stop perfectly at the pump as a white Mercedes pulled up behind. 

Pin then shows Phoebe how to unscrew the petrol cap and explains how much fuel he needs to be poured into the car.

The pair share a laugh as Phoebe accidentally overfills the car by 20p but seconds later an angry driver steps out of the Mercedes frustrated at the delay. 

She said: “Come on guys. This is ridiculous. Come on.”

However, Pin quickly came to the defence of his student, replying: “She just filled it up. We haven’t wasted any time. What do you mean she’s been filling up while I’ve been hanging around.”

When he got back in the car, Pin turned to the camera and gave his side of the argument.  He explained: “As you just saw there guys, a very impatient lady behind us. She actually told me to F off.”

However, YouTube viewers quickly came to the defence of Phoebe and Pin and called out the lady for losing her cool.

@Sol_VI explained: “If she was in a hurry, she should have arrived at the petrol station earlier so she could afford to wait. 

“No reason to take it out on the learner driving figuring out how to fill up the car for the first time. Essential life skill!”

@MarkFromEastleigh commented: “Something tells me she hates being behind a learner, forgetting that she was a learner once herself and had to gain experience fuelling up.  Glad you stood your ground and put her in her place.”
