Gardener shares autumn planting technique for ‘continuous flow of spring flowers’

The more spring bulbs we plant over the coming autumn months the more spring flowers we will enjoy.

The planting technique I use will give a continuous flow of spring flowers.

The bulb lasagne planting technique is a brilliant way to create a continuous spring flower display in your pots, beds and borders. The aim is to have flowers popping up from March to May.

If you get yourself a few bags of spring bulbs including Crocuses, Hyacinth, Daffodils, Alliums and Tulips and quality peat free compost you can do this simple planting technique.

So how does the planting technique work? If you plant Alliums bulbs at the base of a pot, add a quilt of compost, then plant Daffodil bulbs, add a quilt of compost, then plant Hyacinth bulbs and then cover those to the top of your pot then you have a bulb lasagne.

These three layers of spring bulbs will give you a lovely flow of flowers from March to May.

You can use this bulb lasagne planting technique in your garden to create a continuous flow of spring flowers across your garden.

The more pots, containers, planters, beds and borders that contain spring bulbs the better, so the planning and planting starts right now.
