During the winter months lots of people look for hearty recipes to warm up and feel nourished.
Pies are one go-to option many turn to, and now your dinner could get a whole lot better. If weight loss is your goal, there’s a simple recipe that could boost your taste buds and help you lose fat too.
It’s been shared on TikTok by fitness coach Bethany Dobson, and people seem to love it. As today marks National Pie Day (January 23), it seems a great time to share how to whip up the chicken dish, and it’s super easy to pull off.
She said it’s a great option for those looking to lose fat and feed the family well. When you see how good it looks, it may be hard to turn it down.
Bethany claimed it’s only 420 calories per serving, and it comes complete with a pastry topping. If you’re looking to ditch the takeaways in hope of a slimmer figure, it’s a good meal to try out.
Bethany said: “To a pan, add onions and garlic and let that fry off. Then add your chicken in big chunks.
“Season that with chicken seasoning and mixed herbs. Then throw in some chicken stock, and let that simmer until the chicken is nearly cooked through.
“Shred the chicken up into little pieces, add the peas and gravy, whack that in a glass dish, layer the puff pastry on top, fold over the edges and whilst that’s cooking away in the oven you should probably go and give me a follow.
“That’s it. There’s absolutely no reason why you can’t still lose fat around your family. You just need to be tactical with it.”
In the recipe, Bethany uses 500g chicken breasts, one onion, 50g peas, 15g gravy granules, 200ml chicken stock and 250g puff pastry.
The video has been liked over 20,000 times since it’s been shared, and people were quick to comment too. They had all sorts of thoughts on weight loss recipes.
