has been urged to step down from his role in the as a way of helping to boost his “positive PR” following accusations that he’s broken the ‘unwritten rules’ of the army.

The Duke of Sussex, who established the games in 2014 to support wounded and sick military personnel, is facing criticism as approximately 2,000 former servicemen and women have reportedly abandoned the event, claiming it has strayed from its initial purpose.

Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror he believes Harry has become a “tainted figurehead”.

He said: “These distractions make Harry a tainted figurehead. The Invictus Games needs lots of good publicity; the sort of publicity you only get from a dutiful, working royal who doesn’t make waves.

“After all, what is the military about if it is not about doing your duty uncomplainingly?”

Over the years, Meghan Markle has attended various events for the Invictus Games alongside her husband.

This has caused some people to believe that is has become “too royal”.

But PR expert Ryan McCormick told The Mirror he doesn’t believe Harry has any intention of leaving his role at the charity.

He said: “Harry had no qualms about being honoured as a ‘Legend of Aviation’ in January so I don’t believe he’ll heed calls to step down from the Invictus Games.”
