Taylor Swift fans in for a treat as city transforms into ‘wonderland’ for tour | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Taylor Swift and her fans are being celebrated in Liverpool, UK, as the beloved singer and her record-breaking discography are the new subjects of the Taylor Town Trail.

The musical city is gearing up for the Eras Tour, which will be hitting Liverpool in June for three shows on the 13th, 14th and 15th, with 150,000 Swifties expected to flood into the town before the tour continues to Wales and London.

Ahead of Taylor’s three sold-out shows at Anfield Stadium, the city is transforming into a “themed wonderland” aptly dubbed “Taylor Town” with a sightseeing trail perfect for the influx of fans.

Set up by the same team that delivered Liverpool’s Eurovision festivities last year, Make CIC, Taylor Town promises to be a spectacle of note with 11 art installations at the centre inspired by each of the singer’s Eras.

Locations for the trail include Liverpool ONE, the Royal Albert Dock and the Metquarter and will welcome the star with a staggering Liverpool Loves Taylor banner which has already been installed on the facade of St George’s Hall.

Liverpool City Council and Make CIC have teamed up to recreate some of the Grammy winner’s iconic imagery.

This includes a mural inspired by the number 13, a moss-covered grand piano representing her Evermore era while a Red room is being created to honor the 2012 album Red and a giant heart installation will represent the Lover era.

Alongside the art installations, and Instagram-perfect spots, a series of workshops are also being created for fans around the concert dates titled Liverpool Loves Taylor (Craft Version).

One origami workshop will collect Swifties’ creations to eventually create another installation while concertgoers can prepare for their big day with a Swif-tee moment transforming t-shirts.

There is a vast variety of workshops ranging from upcycling denim to decorating cupcakes inspired by the Midnight Rain hitmaker.

Some businesses and organisations are also getting involved in the fun such as the University of Liverpool hosting a free Tay Day with symposiums unpacking Taylor as a cultural phenomenon.

To help area newbies, a Liverpool Loves Taylor information stand will be operating at the town’s Lime Street Station while the singer is in town to help with all Swiftie and Taylor Town Trail queries.
