The public are still fascinated by the Royal Family – and one royal expert may have put her finger on why that is.
She believes “there are no real Hollywood stars anymore”, and that’s where the royals come in.
Kerry Parnell, Telegraph columnist and co-author of The Royal List newsletter, said: “My theory is, because of the pace of social media increasing our turnover of stories, basically, there are no real Hollywood stars anymore, because they’re all online.
“The only other people who live this separate rarified life are the British Royal Family and the fact that they seem slightly separate is why the whole world is looking at them.
“And, remember, there’s always a new season, there’s always another generation growing up, people absolutely love it.”

The Royal Family actually starred in the first reality TV series with Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II inviting the BBC into their home to film them and their children for a documentary series entitled The Royal Family.
Ms Parnell reflects on the documentary, saying Philip and Elizabeth let people see “the real them,” with the TV series being the the first of its kind.
It was also the late Queen who did the first walkabout. In the 1970s, she was visiting New Zealand, and she greeted the crowds, saying, “Hello!” and she continued to do that, says the royal journalist. And, it’s tricked down to her children and their children.
King Charles is known to engage with the crowds, whether it be when walking to church or as seen at this year’s Easter Service.
Prince William and Princess Kate are just as friendly at their engagements.
“Catherine is renowned for talking to the kids and bending down and William will hug people.”

While the royals are out and about, and they may come across as celebrities, they are public servants and are conducting engagements that bring awareness to the organisatoins they visit.
The next six weeks will be quiet, as most royal engagements have been suspended because of the General Election. The reason being is not to distract or show favortism to one cause over another.
Trooping the Colour, which will take place on Saturday, June 15, will go unaffected because the event is run by the Ministry of Defense.
