Fastest-selling used car has seven seats and huge range of engines

The vehicle retail platform cinch has shared the fastest-selling used cars in the UK during the first four months of 2024.

The used car market currently facing a surge in demand, with popular family-sized hatchbacks and SUVs often selling at a much quicker rate than in 2023.

According to cinch, the fastest-selling used car between January and April 2024 was the Ford Grand C-Max, a substantial MPV that features seven seats.

Built between 2010 and 2019, the second-generation C-Max may not be the most attractive car in the world, but can offer over 1,700 litres of boot space with the rear and middle rows of seats folded.

The company also highlighted that the Grand C-Max can be bought with a considerable range of petrol and diesel engines, spanning from an economical 1.0-litre turbo to a powerful 2.0-litre unit.

Another used model that faced a surge in interest in the early months of 2024 was the Polestar 2, a fully electric executive saloon that rivals the Tesla Model 3.

A collaboration between Volvo and the Chinese company Geely, the Polestar 2 offers incredibly smart styling and comfortable ride quality, with drivers able to customise elements such as the steering feel and regenerative brakes.

Whilst the Polestar’s range depends on the particular model, the latest Long Range model is capable of covering up to 406 miles per charge, making it one of the most practical electric cars on the market.

Finally, cinch highlighted that a growing number of drivers are looking for a blend of sportiness and practicality, with the Cupra Formentor also facing a rise in demand.

An SUV rivalling models such as the Ford Kuga and Kia Sportage, the Formentor was the first unique model to come from Cupra, the sporty sub-brand of SEAT.

Whilst some owners state that luggage capacity is somewhat limited, the Cupra Formentor is widely acclaimed for its sharp styling and wide variety of engines.
