Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai says ‘I love you grandpa’ in emotional RNC speech | US | News

Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter Kai declared “I love you grandpa” in an emotional speech to the Republican Party.

The 17-year-old, daughter of Trump’s son Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, said she wanted to “share the side” of her grandfather that “people don’t often see” that she says isn’t portrayed in the “media.” She described him as caring, loving and encouraging.

“Even when he was going through his court cases, he asked me how I was doing,” she told the crowd.

Kai – an avid golfer – made the speech to the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin where her grandfather, 78, will officially accept the party’s nomination on Thursday to run for president for a third time.

Kai also more recently hit the campaign trail with her grandfather on June 17 for a roundtable event with Black voters at a Detroit church, as seen on her social media page.

She also recently attended UFC 303 and was seen alongside Dana White, the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Her grandfather is a longtime UFC fan and shares a close relationship with White, who will also be a guest speaker at the RNC. White is slated to speak on Thursday evening and introduce the president on stage before he formally accepts the party’s nomination.

“A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he is still standing. Grandpa, you are such a inspiriation and I love you. The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know who he is.”

Kai is the eldest of the former president’s 10 grandchildren.

This was not her first time in front of cameras. In the past, she attended his inauguration and the White House Easter Egg Roll.

She is an avid golfer with popular social media accounts, including a YouTube channel, dedicated to her passion for the sport.

Earlier this year, she posted on social media that she won the ladies club championship at Trump’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida.

“Very proud of my game and where it’s heading but there is always room for improvement,” she wrote in the post.

After a bullet grazed her grandfather’s ear at a deadly shooting at his Pennsylvania campaign rally on Saturday, she posted a photo of him pumping his first, writing: “We love you Grandpa. Never stop fighting!”

Additionally, in June, she posted a photo of herself with her grandfather at what appears to be a Turning Point Action event in Detroit, Michigan.
