While petrol prices are still slowly falling, different garages across major cities like Birmingham are selling the fuel at completely varying prices, with one report finding costs as high as £1.77 per litre.
As a result, it is more important than ever for motorists to shop around and find the best deal, with the possibility of reducing their motoring costs by hundreds of pounds each year.
According to research published by the vehicle retail platform Carwow, the Jet station in Bordseley Green offers the cheapest petrol prices in the city of Birmingham.
Located around two miles east of the city centre, the Bordseley Green garage is incredibly convenient and offers petrol at just 138.9p per litre.
Motorists in the Selly Park area of the city can also get petrol for the same price at the BP garage, located on Pershore Road.
Carwow’s study also found that a number of petrol stations across Birmingham were offering petrol at the competitive price of 139.7p per litre.
These include the two Gulf stations, located on Vauxhall Road in Duddeston and on the Watery Lane Middleway near to Digbeth respectively.
The company highlighted that the Asda supermarket in the neighbouring area of Small Heath is also offering petrol for 139.7p per litre.
