Donald Trump’s commanding performance against Joe Biden in the latest TV debate has seemingly hammered the final nail in the coffin of Biden’s election hopes, following the bombshell announcement that Biden has bowed out of the upcoming race.

The Democratic challenger appeared visibly shaken during the debate, whereas Trump delivered with greater clarity. Social media was abuzz with comments, especially regarding a moment dubbed the “kill shot” by one user, where Trump clearly overshadowed Biden on the immigration issue.

Biden’s struggle with coherence became apparent as he fumbled towards the end of his statementsa concerning trend that plagued his debate performance. To which Trump retorted: “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said either.”

Twitter circles were preoccupied with Biden’s vocal strain during the debate, with many attributing it to the 81 year old’s deteriorating health.

Following what some have labelled a catastrophic showing against Trump, scrutiny over Bidens age and cognitive capacity has intensified. The longstanding worries over the octogenarian’s fitness for office escalated sharply on June 27, in the glare of over 51 million CNN viewers watching the Biden-Trump face-off, reports the Mirror US.

With the scale of the issue now exposed, Democrats have been compelled to delay the DNC by approximately a week, giving party leaders a narrow window to nominate a likely successor, thought to be Vice President Kamala Harris.

Onlookers were left bewildered by the president’s speech which came across as haphazard, with him fumbling his words and appearing to lose his train of thought. After the event, New York Representative Ritchie Torres remarked, “I had to take a few more antidepressants than usual.”
