How to remove leather sofa scar without spending a penny

A sofa scar can be a real eyesore in your living room. These unsightly marks or indentations on the surface of a sofa are usually caused by prolonged pressure or wear and tear on the upholstery fabric or leather.

Often, it’s taken as a sign that it’s time to invest in a new sofa. However, purchasing new home furnishings can be quite expensive.

Yet, one woman recently left social media users amazed when she revealed her simple trick to repair sofa scars without having to splash out on a new settee. The woman, who goes by the username ‘takeoff001’ online, received over 1.5 million likes after demonstrating her method.

In the video, she is seen cutting around some burn damage on her leather couch cushion and tracing the shape onto a piece of clear plastic. She then fills the hole with some fabric before covering it with a small piece of faux leather material and applying some filler.

After sanding it down, she draws a stencil to recreate the holes from the original design. She then sprays the repaired area the colour of the original material.

By the end of the process, it was impossible to tell that the cushion had ever been damaged, leaving viewers astounded. One TikTok user commented: “I did not trust the process but it’s perfect.”

Another exclaimed: “That was a whole surgery,” while a third said: “That’s impressive.” A fourth also dubbed it the “best repair I’ve seen in a while.”

Sofas are one of the most used items of furniture in the home and as a result, they can fall victim to spillages and stains. However, a mum has found a simple way to deep clean her sofa to make it look brand new.

All you need is a washing machine tablet, some hot water, a clean cloth and a nail brush. While most people tend to have laundry tablets in the house, the good news you can purchase them for as little as 16p per pod from certain supermarkets.
