Air fryers are a great kitchen tool with many now using them instead of our ovens. But when it comes to cleaning them, it can be a real pain, to say the least. People with them in their kitchens know all too well that despite being energy-efficient and handy, they can easily become dirty with grime and grease.
However if you find yourself hankering for some late-night snacks and your air fryer is looking a tad disgusting, there’s a remedy available. TikTok sensation Chantel Mila, renowned for her home cleaning and organisation advice, has gained 1.5 million followers and now reveals her ‘powerful mix’ that can make your air fryer shine in under thirty minutes.
According to the Mirror, the cleaning guru suggests mixing a tablespoon of dish soap with half a cup of bicarbonate of soda. All you need to do is place them both into your air fryer basket and add boiling water. Next, let the mixture sit for around 20 minutes and it should dissolve even the most stubborn grime.
“This powerful mix melts tough, burnt on grime and leaves you air fryer looking like new,” she assures. After disposing of the dirty water, make sure to dry the basket completely before putting it back in place.
A tub of baking soda is readily available at your local supermarket or general store for a few pounds. The Range offers a 500g tub for just £1.49. Additionally, if you require washing-up liquid, a bottle of Fairy costs only £1 with supermarket’s own brands often being cheaper.
Many air fryer users opt to invest in reusable liners that fit into the appliance and prevent grime from building up initially. These liners are much easier to clean and are available on Amazon for just £6.99 for a pack of two here.
