Zara Tindall’s rarely-heard nickname shared by cousin Princess Eugenie | Royal | News

Princess Eugenie has revealed her affectionate nickname for cousin Zara Tindall in a nostalgic Instagram post. The 34 year old royal, daughter of Prince Andrew, shared the pet name while reminiscing about the Paris Olympics and celebrating Zara’s silver medal win.

Zara Tindall, now 43, was announced as part of the British Equestrian team for the London 2012 Olympic Games on 11 June 2012. She competed on High Kingdom and secured a silver medal in the team event, with her mother, Princess Anne, presenting her medal.

In her recent social media post, Princess Eugenie fondly recalled the triumphant moment and revealed her special nickname for the mother-of-three. She expressed her love for the Olympics, describing it as “Olympics is one of the best things in our world”.

She wrote: “The Olympics is one of the best things in our world. It’s such a special time watching superhuman athletes represent their countries, bringing people together and inspiring generations. Some of my most favourite memories from 2012 was being on the side-lines cheering on our heroes. Not to mention, the best moment of all, watching my family win silver in eventing, goooo Z!”.

Princess Eugenie wasn’t the only Royal rooting for Zara at the Greenwich Park event. Princess Beatrice, Prince William and his wife Kate, Prince Harry and Peter Phillips were also among the spectators cheering on Zara, according to Hello!.

The Mirror said that during Mike Tindall’s stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ in 2022, his wife Zara affectionately revealed that they, along with their children Mia, Lena, and Lucas, are often referred to by their initials as she signed a letter with “Z, M, L and L.”

According to the Daily Express, Mike affectionately refers to Zara as ‘Zed while chatting on the ‘House of Rugby’ podcast in 2020. He mentioned: “Sorry, Lena’s just on fire at the moment, she’s never quiet” and added “I did just send Zed a message, going ‘Shush please,’ so she’s obviously moving from somewhere.”

Furthermore, Mike disclosed that the couple frequently uses the term “munchkin” when referring to one another, saying: “We basically call each other munchkins a lot. I don’t know why that started but it has stuck.”

However, he playfully noted that Zara has a different moniker for him in her phone, which he teased, “I will let Zara decide whether she wants to give away what I am down in her phone as…”

In response, Zara indicated how she escalates terms of endearment to get his attention, explaining: “When he’s not listening to munchkin or Mikey, it becomes Michael Tindall when there’s no response. He is in my phone as something else and it ends with kitten.”
