When it comes to food shopping we are all aware of how much our bills are rising due to the cost of living and inflation.
However, thanks to supermarkets like Tesco who have introduced its Clubcard and Sainsbury’s with its Nectar card, customers can enjoy a slight discount thanks to their discount schemes.
In case you don’t know what a Nectar is, when you shop at Sainsbury’s you can get a slightly cheaper discount on certain products.
By shopping with that particular supermarket you can get a Nectar card for free and be a part of their loyalty scheme.
There are no hidden charges or fees that you have to pay to be a part of the scheme.
Not only are they a popular way to get you to shop at the supermarket but as you spend in the store you can also collect points and save money.
Now the supermarket giant Sainsbury’s has issued a warning to its customers who have a Nectar card.
The UK chain is offering bonus Nectar points to customers who buy fruit and veg. This is part of Sainsbury’s Great Fruit and Veg Challenge which is running from July 31 to September 17.
The scheme will see customers encouraged to eat more of the good stuff. In return, shoppers can earn up to 1,000 extra points by completing personalised tasks related to their five-a-day and can track their progress via the Nectar app.
According to Sainsbury’s website, they have shared recipes to get you inspired as well as giving recommended portion sizes that we should be eating daily.
If you don’t have a Sainsbury’s Nectar card you can go online to sign up and it only takes a matter of minutes to do. There is also an app which can also be downloaded on smartphone devices to keep track of all your points.
