Whether you like your eggs scrambled, poached or fried, eggs are a delicious breakfast or even dinner option.
However, if you’re short on time, washing up a pan may not be the easiest, so why not try cooking them in a microwave?
This recipe from BBC Good Food has more than 20 five-star ratings, with many claiming it’s their go-to.
The recipe note said: “They said it couldn’t be done. This is the quickest, easiest and cleanest way to make scrambled eggs for one.”
It requires just a few ingredients and produces super fluffy recipes, comparable to those cooked in a pan.
Ingredients:
Two free-range eggs
Splash of milk
Pinch of salt and ground pepper
To serve:
One to two slices of bread, toasted
Salted butter, for spreading
Method:
Crack the eggs into a microwaveable bowl and season before whisking well and until combined.
Simply microwave for 30 seconds, then stir with a fork. If necessary, microwave again in 10-second bursts, until almost set.
It’s important to remember that the eggs will continue to cook a little when removed from the microwave.
Stir once they come out of the microwave and allow them to sit on the side for 30 seconds.
Butter your toast and tip the egg on top and enjoy the perfect eggs, cooked in one minute.
If you prefer “super silky” eggs, add a dash of milk or cream to the eggs before placing them in the microwave.
Microwaves do vary so make sure to check after 30 seconds to avoid overcooking them.
