Six rare coins could be worth fortune – including £200k penny

If you’re a coin collector, take note…

TikTok user @CoinCollectingWizard, with a hefty following of 185,000, revealed some knowledge that’s got collectors buzzing. In a recent video, the coin guru posed the question: “Do you remember any of these old British coins? Some are rare and valuable.”

Then he unveiled a list of six coins to watch out for. Topping the list is the 1924 Florin or two shillings, which can fetch up to £65 in fine condition or an impressive £145 if uncirculated.

He continued, revealing the 1949 Brass 3p’s rarity due to its low mintage of just 464,000, noting one recently fetched nearly £500 in fine condition.

The 1925 Florin also made the cut, valued at around £40 in good condition and soaring over £500 when uncirculated, thanks to its scant mintage of just over a million.

The user didn’t stop there as the fourth coin mentioned was the elusive 1869 penny, which could be worth a whopping £5,000 if found in good condition a fact not widely known among the public.

And let’s not forget the 1905 half crown, hailed as one of the “rarest half coins to ever be minted” with a mere 160,000 in existence.

“This can fetch anywhere between £450 and £10,000,” he explained. “And finally, let’s slip this 1933 penny in there because if you are lucky enough to find this coin, then you are guaranteed at least £200,000.”

Since he shared the informative video, the post scooped hundreds of likes and comments.

While many users flood the comments section with news sharing they own one of the coins, another asked: “Is a 1957 3p worth anything?” As a third posted: “I have over 100.”
