Oreo fans insist they ‘need’ new flavour spotted at B&M

There’s nothing quite like the simple pleasure of dunking your favourite biscuit into a warm cuppa, and Oreo enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement over the return of a beloved flavour.

The iconic biscuit, known for its delicious creme filling, maintains its status as the world’s most sought-after cookie. Oreo is owned by snack titan Mondelez International, which also boasts confectionery heavyweights like Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, Milka, Toblerone, and Mikado in its portfolio.

Sharp-eyed shoppers have been thrilled to see red velvet Oreos making an appearance on the aisles of their local B&M stores, three years after people appealed to Mondelez to revive the flavour.

The flavour left US stores in 2020 but is now back, and it’s now available for Brits too.

Last year, the official Oreo Cookie social media account made an announcement that whipped fans into a frenzy: “It wasn’t a dream! It’s really happening…OREO Red Velvet is back on shelves now.”

And this week, the popular New Foods UK account on Instagram posted a picture of the much-discussed biscuits in B&M, sparking a wave of delight among followers. Their post said: “Red Velvet Oreo spotted @bm_stores.” And people cannot get enough of them.

Comments soon poured in, with one excited customer sharing: “I want all of these.”

“Omg yes please,” added another. One other insisted they “need” to try the Oreo flavour. Another individual said they purchased a packet for £1 in B&M on Friday [August 23].

Last month a number of people were seen trying an Oreo hack – but there were fears it could burn your mouth. Taking the biscuit and submerging it in a cup of milk before putting it in a microwave, the food hack is meant to provide a warm sweet treat. But in practice, biscuit dunkers may need to give it some time to cool off before consuming.
