Senior royal’s savage 2-word nickname for Meghan Markle revealed in bombshell book | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unofficial biography, ‘Finding Freedom’, claimed a savage, two-word nickname was given to Meghan by a senior member of the Royal Family when they began dating.

Finding Freedom, written by Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie highlights the deepening rift between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the wider Royal Family, which ultimately led to the couple quitting official royal duties in 2020.

The senior royal is said to have referred to Meghan as “Harry’s showgirl”, while another allegedly said: “She comes with a lot of baggage.”

Before Meghan joined the Royal Family she was best known for her work on a US TV drama called Suits, where she played a paralegal and the love interest of a main lead, played by Patrick J Adams.

Prior to working as an actress, Meghan also had a role on the TV show Deal or No Deal as a ‘briefcase girl’, which she discussed on her Spotify podcast series, Archetypes.

The Duchess of Sussex opened the sixth episode of her Spotify podcast series Archetypes saying she left the quiz show after making 34 appearances as she didn’t “like feeling forced to be all looks and little substance”.

The former actress also said that during that show she felt she was being “reduced” to the bimbo trope, as most of the attention was placed on how she and other models were looking rather than what they may have to say.

However, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Claudia Jordan took to her Instagram Stories to state not every single person attending the show as a model felt the same way.

Claudia wrote: “And Deal or No Deal never treated us like bimbos. We got so many opportunities because of that show, Fremantle and NBC.”

She added: “That’s the kind of opportunity that is what you make it. If you just show up and don’t engage – then you’ll just get your check and not get much out of it – but if you show up and seize your moments then there are no limits to what you can do with the opportunity.”

Since stepping down as senior royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a number of deals with streaming giants, including Spotify, as a major source of monetary income.

The couple are set to release individual Netflix shows. Harry’s show will take viewers inside the world of the elitist sport of polo.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Harry’s polo-playing best friend, Nacho Figueras shared just how much playing polo means to Prince Harry: “We’ve been working on this for a long time. It was always Harry’s dream and passion to share with the world, what it takes to be a really competitive polo player and show polo at the highest level.”

Meghan’s upcoming show will differ from her husband’s and celebrate “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship” as per the official description.

However, news of the two projects have not gone down well with Palace insiders, an expert claims. As photos emerged of the couple in the states attending a polo match, royal expert, Tom Quinn told the Mirror: “Harry and Meghan’s appearance at a polo event where they were filming a new Netflix series has produced groans at Kensington Palace.”
