Nico Rosberg was caught in an awkward exchange with fellow pundit Natalie Pinkham on the Sky Sports F1 podcast.

The pair were discussing whether Oscar Piastri could emerge as an unlikely title contender ahead of Lando Norris over the final eight races.

Pinkham said: “You don’t want to see your team-mate win a world title in a car you knew you would have won it in as well. That’s got to be the worst.”

Rosberg, who lost several titles to Lewis Hamilton during his time at Mercedes, did not seem too impressed with Pinkham’s comments.

“Yes, Natalie, that is the worst,” he replied before snapping: “That’s actually quite horrible, Natalie.”

Pinkham responded: “I know, I’m sorry about that.”
