Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were hit with yet another blow regarding their global brand after the duchess allegedly landed herself in hot water over American Riviera Orchard’s (ARO) logo, reports have claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex faced a huge obstacle just days ago after the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) turned down an application regarding the name of her lifestyle brand as “the applied-for mark is primarily geographically descriptive”, according to a filling.
Now the office has raised questions over the way the letter ‘O’ for Orchard is drawn on the logo, the Mail reports.
In something called a “non-final action” document, USPTO wrote that the application has been reviewed by an examining attorney and says the “applicant must submit an amended description of the mark that agrees with the mark on the drawing” and instead suggested a more accurate description of the current image.
The outlet’s report added that USPTO’s latest refusal regarding ARO’s name revealed a series of problems regarding the brand’s filling, including the duchess’s “agents’ apparent failure to sign the correct documents”.
