A woman who worked at events during the 2022 World Cup has claimed that Jermaine Jenas sent her a nude photo and flirty messages during the tournament. She alleges that the former England midfielder attempted to get her to send pictures in a bikini.
The woman was tasked with securing clients for high-profile parties held in the Qatari capital of Doha. It is claimed that Jenas first met her at a hotel restaurant while he was with BBC stars including Gary Lineker, Micah Richards and Rio Ferdinand.
Jenas, who was sacked by the BBC last month for admitting to sending inappropriate texts to two colleagues, exchanged numbers with the woman so that he could book tables for himself at parties. The 41-year-old reportedly booked tables for himself and others three times during the month-long tournament.
According to the Daily Mail, Jenas turned up at the hotel for dinner the next night and that was when he began to message the woman, whose identity has not been revealed. The ex-midfielder allegedly sent “Hello you” with a heart-eyes emoji. When the woman replied with “Olaaa”, he returned with messages that read “This language does it for me” and “U don’t need to say sorry I love it”.
His flirty messages reportedly continued with “That’s why you’re the best”, “I keep thinking these are pics of u when they arrive”, and “When it arrives I’m like.. oh nice finally I get to see this body”.
Jenas, who is understood to deny the latest claims, allegedly invited the woman to elite beach resort Nammos a few days later. She turned down the offer, telling him that a friend had come for the day and that they were thinking of spending the day in the desert.
It is claimed he replied: “Ok… I mean I do wanna see u in a bikini so feel free to put her off for a day… u can’t blame me.”
The woman responded by saying “I can, but I won’t”, but Jenas said: “You won’t what? Wear a bikini?”
When Jenas allegedly asked again for a bikini picture, she responded: “I’m working. And I’m not the type who sends pics. I hate it.”
Jenas said: “I know, but you know what it’s like when you’re away. Since I saw u it’s been on my mind, that’s all. I just like the tease.”
Jenas later messaged her saying he had two tickets for Calvin Harris and invited her to come to the gig. When she said she could not, the former Tottenham and Newcastle footballer is claimed to have mocked her for “getting old”.
She told Jenas she was going to “Netflix and chill”, to which he allegedly responded: “I’ve been trying to Netflix and chill with u”. He told her he had got tickets to see Harris because the musician is his “boy”.
When she did not understand what “my boy meant”, Jenas is claimed to have said: “Hang on. You want my boy now?”
It is at this point that the woman received a photo of Jenas holding his private parts.
The woman told the newspaper that she felt “shocked” and “violated”. She insists that she only maintained contact with Jenas because she “had to” due to her job being to bring in clients.
Jenas later blocked the woman, she claims, after she did not respond to messages he sent after the photo of his penis.
Jenas was a key part of the BBC’s line-up prior to his sacking last month. He presented The One Show and was a regular guest on Match of the Day.
Jenas has since said of his behaviour which led to his axing: “I feel ashamed. I feel I’ve let everybody down – friends, family, colleagues.”
He added of his family life: “The anxiety builds up in your body over these types of things. I haven’t had any sleeping pills. I’ve just not been sleeping.
“You just kind of lay there, mind’s ticking over until you pass out. Part of me would just rather go out and run until I collapse.”
Jenas was unhappy with the way his departure from the corporation was handled and claims different departments were told different things. In a remarkable situation, he was live on air hosting a show on talkSPORT when his sacking was announced.
