Apple confirms biggest ever Apple Watch update – is it time to upgrade?

It was 10 years ago that Apple launched its first-ever smartwatch and now, to celebrate that major milestone, the US technology firm is back with its biggest ever upgrade to its hugely popular wearable. Those wanting to strap one of these latest and greatest devices to their wrist now have the choice of a new Apple Watch Series 10 which Apple say its lightest and thinnest ever.

In fact, it’s 10 percent thinner than the previous Watch 9 plus there’s another bonus as it features a bigger OLED screen which makes it easier to see health data and reply to messages. This display also gets wider angle viewing that’s 40 percent brighter than before.

One final bonus of the screen is improved efficiency which means Apple can now offer better features such as a ticking second hand when in always-on mode.

When the device runs flat it can be refilled faster with the battery going from flat to 80 percent in just 30 mins.

That faster-boosting means users might be more inclined to wear the Series 10 at night and that’s a good thing as this device can now check for sleep apnoea.

This is a disorder that causes you to stop breathing while asleep and, if not addressed it can cause serious issues over time.

Apple is using sensors that can monitor breathing disturbances to see if users are affected by this issue.

Other new features include a depth gauge and water temperature for when you take a dip in the sea or pool.

The Series 10 is also now more durable plus its faster and smarter thanks to the latest S10 SIP inside. There are also more colours to choose from including a striking Jet Black polished aluminium finish and stunning polished Titanium.

It goes on sale next week – UK pricing is coming soon.

There’s no major upgrade to the more premium Apple Watch Ultra this year but Apple is launching a sleek new black colour which is something many have been waiting for.

It’s coming soon.
