A beauty expert shared how you can achieve ‘eternal youth’ – claiming a simple change in hairstyle could be all you need.
Cosmetic injector Nicole Smith, also known as @lipsandlattes on TikTok, claims you can look up to a decade younger without resorting to surgery.
In her video for her 255,000 followers, she explained: “The hair theory suggests that people perceive you a certain way based on how you style your hair.
“Get an instant glow-up with a change in your hair! You can look much younger by keeping up with hair trends. Your hair and fashion can influence the perception someone has about your age. Having a youthful hairstyle is the key to aging well.”
She added that while short hair might make one seem older, sporting long locks with a middle parting could strip years off your appearance, a style popular among women in their twenties.
The post triggered a wave of comments, with one viewer remarking: “Cutting one’s hair short is the kiss of death. I’m 63 and wear mine long and proud.”
Another shared their personal story: “She is so right. My hair was long and straight I am 47. Now I lost it to chemo, it’s short and turned all grey and curly – I look old now.”
A third commenter recalled their father’s opinion on the topic: “My dad said he never understood why women turned 50 and chopped their hair off because they instantly look old. Not as popular now but used to be.”
However, her advice has not been universally accepted. One user countered: “Going through menopause thins your hair drastically. So I’m already starting to have my hair cut a lot shorter as it looks like rats tails when long.”
Another user chimed in: “It’s great if you’ve got the hair, as we age it gets much thinner.”
And one more user added: “This is your reminder to have your hair however the hell you want!”
