The iPhone 16 is officially on sale today – no more pre-orders, you can go into shops or online and pay today to get your hands on Apple’s latest smartphone. We’ve been combing through the many, many different deals on the new phone to try and find the best prices, and there’s an offer that’s hard to ignore because it can get you the iPhone 16 for £10 per month.
To be clear, you have to pay £699 upfront as part of this cut-price monthly price. But if you have the money to make the purchase, that’ll net you a 128GB iPhone 16, which you can buy outright for £799. So, why would you get this deal? Well, paying £799 to get the phone will only get you the phone, no mobile plan.
With this deal from Mobile Phones Direct, you’re paying most of the cost of the handset upfront to be able to pay very little per month over the course of the 24-month contract. For £10 per month, which amounts to £240 over two years, you’ll get 100GB monthly 5G data and unlimited calls and texts on the Three network.
That means you’re paying only £140 over two years for your mobile plan. That’s a very good price for a plan with the brand new iPhone 16.

If you can’t afford to pay a lot upfront, there are other ways to spread the cost of the iPhone 16 over the course of a two year contract. We’ve rounded up some of the best iPhone 16 deals and iPhone 16 Pro deals if you want to check those out.
Express.co.uk technology editor Dave Snelling has been using the iPhone 16 since it was announced and has awarded it four-and-a-half-stars out of five in his review, calling it “almost perfect”.
“If you’ve been waiting patiently to upgrade your iPhone – this is the year to make the jump to something new,” he said.
“The iPhone 16 is no no-brainer for anyone looking to upgrade especially as it’s one of the only devices that will get Apple Intelligence later this year.
“It features that bold new look, gets the Action and Camera Control buttons plus there’s that stupendously fast A18 processor and upgraded rear cameras.
“The tougher design should also help keep it looking box-fresh for longer and it comes with Wi-Fi 7, eSIM technology for faster set-up (most UK networks now offer this service) and the latest iOS 18 operating system.”
One thing to note is this contract deal, like many others, is subject to annual price ries every April. If you don’t think you can afford to pay for a new phone, think about whether you really need the latest handset, or find a way to save up so you can buy one without putting yourself through financial stress.
