“Use the ‘high before low rule’ – starting with dusting the ceiling corners and wiping down any light fittings before moving your attention to blitzing and disinfecting the shower, bath, and toilet.”
The expert team highlighted: “Pay special attention to under the rim of the toilet and the back of the toilet bowl, as these can often be neglected when cleaning.
“Choose a product that will do the dirty work for you like the method’s bathroom cleaner to give you a helping hand when removing pesky grime.”
Bathrooms can become breeding grounds for all kinds of mould, including black mould, due to their damp nature – but according to cleaning enthusiasts, this doesn’t have to be a losing battle.
Taking to the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, one homeowner asked: “What’s best to get rid of black mould from sealant around a shower tray and what to use to clean grout on tiles?”
One fellow group member answered: “Cotton wool soaked in bleach leave overnight if possible or at least a couple of hours depending how bad it is.”
“I use bleach on cotton wool leave for 20/30 minutes”, added another.
Replying to the cotton wool hack, another commenter wrote: “I have done this with panty liners. They do not break up and can be reused over and over.”
