Removing stains from shoes and clothes can seem like a rather daunting task, especially for certain materials, with suede being a particularly difficult one to clean.
But, there are ways to get your clothes looking as good as new, and one method uses an item you may already have at home – and if not you can purchase it for as little as £2.
Shared on Instagram by cleaning fanatic Chantel Mila Ibbotson, who posts as Mama_Mila_Au, this hack uses Micellar Water, which is often may be used in your daily skincare routine.
In the video, she explained: “Remove stains on suede using micellar water, and it also removes make-up stains from clothes instantly.”
Fans were quick to comment on this tip, sharing how it’s been a huge success for them, while others said they were “mindblown.”
One wrote: “The Micellar water on suede trick is THE best. Used it when someone stood on my brand new sambas.”
While another added: “Miceller water makeup wipes are fantastic at cleaning sneakers! I dropped a lipstick brush with red lipstick on brand new cream suede sambas and thought I’d trashed them, one quick wipe and they were like new.”
In the video, Chantel shared some more cleaning tips, including one way to wash your cushions that will leave your home smelling amazing.
“Wash cushions and throws with eucalyptus oil to rid dust mites and make your home smell amazing”, she explained, while putting the items in the washing machine and adding a couple of drops oil to the washing powder.
Her next tip was another that will leave your house smelling amazing, while also giving you a home-made cleaning spray.
Chantel said: “Boil two cups water, a quarter cup of white vinegar, and lemon to rid lingering cooking odours. And you can bottle this mix and use it as a kitchen spray.”
