Top 10 Gamecube games ranked – and Legend of Zelda is not No. 1 | Gaming | Entertainment

The Gamecube isn’t one of Nintendo’s most successful consoles, selling just over 20 million units before being replaced by the much more popular Nintendo Wii in 2007. Despite the lack of sales, however, the Gamecube was home to some seriously great games.

Indeed, some of Nintendo’s most popular franchises made their debut on the Gamecube, including Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion, Pikmin and Metroid Prime.

To celebrate Nintendo’s under-appreciated video game console, we’ve put together a list of the ten best Gamecube games based on their Meteoritic scores.

Remarkably, this means there’s no room for f-Zero GX, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

It may also surprise you to find out that The Legend of Zelda doesn’t claim the top spot, despite appearing three different times in the list.

7. SoulCalibur 2

After topping the list of top ten Dreamcast games, SoulCalibur is back with a sequel that retains the excellent gameplay of the original, all the while expanding your list of options.

Famously, SoulCalibur 2 featured different guest characters depending on your platform. PS2 users could play as Heihachi from Tekken, Xbox users could select comic book character Spawn, while Gamecube got the pick of the bunch, as Link joins the roster.
