Wetherspoons fans will be pleased to know there is a secret £6 meal which they can order, and tastes even better than popular restaurant Wagamama’s. The pub chain, which is known for its cheap drinks, also has affordable and tasty food it seems.
And now one Wetherspoons worker has shared some inside knowledge about one dish customers never seem to order but is a firm favourite with her.
Macey Newberry took to TikTok to talk about the secret item with her followers, she said: “This was my go-to.”
The Wetherspoons worker could be seen tucking into a bowl of chicken ramen, which only costs £6. The dish is made of broth, noodles, chicken and veg and what you would normally expect from a ramen.
She added: “If you were to get a ramen anywhere else in England, like a Wagamama, you’d be paying at least £11 or £12.
“So, for six quid I can hand on heart say this is better than a Wagamama.”
Newberry said the Wetherspoon dish has “depths of flavour” and compared Wagamama’s dish to “dishwater”.
The video has racked up 160,000 views and more than 7,000 likes so far. People took to comment on Newberry’s video with some divided over the claim.
One person wrote: “The noodles are way too soggy I found.”
Another said: “It has no flavour! I work in Spoons so maybe it’s just our pub.” A third added: “I work at Wetherspoons but the food gets boring after a bit.”
A fourth user said: “Always wanted to try it but so scared it will taste bad, like curry/chicken potnoodles/super noodles ect. please confirm it doesn’t taste like that.”
While others agreed with the Wetherspoons worker and loved the dish.
Someone commented: “I love it! Way better than the Wagas chicken ramen. The Spicey one slaps though.”
A second said: “It looks like it has a lot more flavour than wagas ones.” Another wrote: “I’ve been wanted to try it for ages, you’ve twisted my arm I’m defo gonna have to try it now.”
A fourth person said: Had this couple weeks ago and it slapped not gonna lie.”
Customers who want to add extra spice to their Wetherspoons ramen can add garlic chilli sauce to the dish, Newberry advised.
