Roger Taylor speaks on new Queen music with Brian May ‘We have good material’ | Music | Entertainment

It’s been 30 years since Queen released new music for their final album Made in Heaven.

These were tracks that they worked on with retired bassist John Deacon alongside the posthumous vocals of Freddie Mercury.

In the three decades since, Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor have released solo content but only toured with Queen’s back catalogue.

However, that could be about to change as in recent years they’ve been recording with Adam Lambert “in secret”.

Now the band’s drummer has the latest and it’s all sounding very positive.

Speaking with Uncut, Roger said: “I think we might. Brian and myself were talking the other day, and we both said that if we feel we have some good material, why not? We can still play. We can still sing. So I don’t see why not.”

As for why they haven’t yet, the drummer told Express.co.uk in a previous interview: “We haven’t felt it was right to put it out. We didn’t think we hit the right kind of vibe.” Nevertheless, both he and the guitarist are open to the idea, if they can get it right in their eyes.

Last year Sir Brian told US Radio: “We have dabbled a little. It is just that you haven’t heard any of it. It would have to be something so special that we would feel we would want to launch it on the public”

Meanwhile, Adam Lambert acknowledged that singing on a Queen record when he’s not Freddie Mercury was a big deal. He added: “It’s a lot of pressure if you think about it. If they’re going to put something out that’s new, it’s got to be at a certain level. It has to be the right thing. And I’ve always said, ‘Is it appropriate for me to be doing new material?’ I feel like it scares me.”
