Clean greasy air fryers in ’10 minutes’ with no scrub 60p method cleaner loves

Air fryers have risen in popularity in recent years, thanks to their quick cooking.

However, they can get greasy very quickly and if this isn’t cleaned immediately, can turn into hard sludge.

Taking to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, one fan shared her dilemma.

Sharon Darlington asked: “What is the best way of cleaning greasy air fryer drawers?”

The post attracted more than 50 comments from group members all recommending their methods.

Gina Trotz wrote: “Hot water and detergent, very simple and effective.”

Deb O’Neil commented: “Steep in hot water with washing up liquid, comes up like new everytime.”

Louise Simpson added: “Soak in hot water and washing up liquid as soon as you take the food out, then wash when you’ve eaten. My clients use their air fryer lots and I use this method every week.”

Annemarie Turnball noted: “Boiling water with washing up liquid, leave for 10 minutes and rinse, perfect every time.”

This method helps to dissolve the grease and grime, making it easier to remove.

Washing-up liquid can be picked up for as little as 60p from supermarkets such as Asda and Lidl.

It is recommended to wash the air fryer after every use to prevent a build-up of dirt and bacteria.

Other group members recommended soaking a hard dishwasher tablet in the air fryer if it is dirtier than usual.

The cleaning agents in the tablets break down fats and oils, making it easier to rinse away.
