Boris Johnson shakes head as Stormy Daniels details heartbreaking Trump backlash | US | News

Boris Johnson shook his head as Stormy Daniels, the former porn star who was at the centre of Donald Trump’s hush money trial has told Channel 4 about the abuse she has received in the wake of the verdict.

Ms Daniels, who had a consensual one-night stand with the former Apprentice host, was paid $130,000 by Trump’s campaign in an attempt to keep their encounter secret in the run up to the 2016 election.

Trump was eventually prosecuted for falsifying business records to conceal the payment.

Daniels told the show of the fear she has felt since the trial’s conclusion: “It was very scary in the beginning. I got stopped at the border and had 17 false charges appear on my FBI record. That was the first time I had a sense that anything could happen.

“It kicked off again since the election but the biggest thing this time around is that people are not hiding and I think that part of that has to do with January 6 at the capital.

Ms Daniels documented the abuse and intimidation tactics she believes have been directed at her as a result of the trial and conviction of the former president.

She said: “People are using their real screen names and real phone numbers the threats are more graphic.

“During the trial, Trump’s attorney “accidentally” put a document on the screen with my unredacted home address on it so I have not been home since.”

Ms Daniels, who claims to have been “shadow banned online”, was unable to say whether or not she feared a Trump victory or Trump loss more.

She was seated next to former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is appearing as a commentator throughout the night.

Mr Johnson appeared to shake his head as Ms Daniels detailed the her terrifying experiences.

The former Prime Minister expressed sympathy for Ms Daniels despite previously claiming that he considered Trump, the man accused of stoking abuse towards her, as a friend.

When confronted by Ms Daniels on the matter, Mr Johnson refused to denounce the former president, insisting that it was important as a former prime minister to maintain a cordial relationship.
