Sir Paul McCartney brought his Got Back world tour to an end last night at London’s O2 Arena.
Express.co.uk caught the evening before, and we wondered if Sir Ringo Starr would show up for the encore at the final concert.
After all, the 84-year-old drummer was in town promoting his new country album and was soon spotted in the VIP audience section alongside George Clooney and Dua Lipa.
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood surprised the audience by performing Get Back with Macca before The Beatles legends themselves were reunited in a very special encore.
After his virtual duet of I’ve Got A Feeling with a recording of John Lennon, McCartney introduced the other surviving members of the Fab Four onto the stage to thunderous applause.
Ringo then performed on the drums for the next two songs with the 82-year-old bassist on Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Helter Skelter, as fans couldn’t believe their luck.
Afterwards, the 84-year-old told the crowd: “I’m off now but I’ve had a great night. Love you all!”
Macca seeing him off stage back to the drummer’s Bond girl wife Barbara Bach said: “Goodbye Ringo, I’ll see you soon!”
