David Beckham failed to get a knighthood for another year as King Charles’s New Year Honours list was announced on Monday night.

More than 1,200 people from across the UK received honours in the latest list, but the ex-England captain was not one of them.

Speculation over whether the ex-footballer would receive the honour has been swirling ever since the monarch ascended to the throne.

But he has so far failed to make it into the list despite his good relationship with the Royal Family.

Actor Stephen Fry, former England manager Gareth Southgate and London mayor Sadiq Khan were among those knighted.
