Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd plot sale of £153m stars as Liverpool suffer Mo Salah blow | Football | Sport

Liverpool fans will be forced to wait a while longer for Mohamed Salah’s prospective contract extension, according to journalist David Ornstein, who claims that an agreement is ‘not imminent’.

The Egyptian has been in the form of his life this season, racking up 30 goal contributions in only 18 Premier League games, but he will be free to leave at the end of June unless the club can agree terms with his entourage.

Salah has long been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

And he will be at liberty to discuss a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs from tomorrow.

A two-year extension is reportedly in the works, and while there is a feeling that Salah and Virgil van Dijk will ‘eventually sign contracts’, the sagas are likely to drag on long into 2025.
