Remove oven grease and leave your kitchen sparkling with DIY spray

Cleaning the kitchen hob is nobody’s favourite chore, but it’s got to be done in order to keep your space looking cared for.

Over time, food stains like oil and grease can accumulate on the hob surface, inside the oven and on the worktops too – and the longer you leave them, the harder they are to remove.

However, one cleaning expert on social media says that with just three simple ingredients, you can ‘melt away’ these stains with no scrubbing at all, leaving your kitchen looking brand new.

Lifestyle influencer Chantel Mila is an award-winning cleaning TikToker boasting more than 1.5 million followers thanks to her handy home organisation tips.

And a very popular piece of advice from last January reveals how you can keep your kitchen looking sparkling as you remove tough grease stains – even ones in your oven.

In the caption of her video, she said: “Make your kitchen sparkle! This DIY spray is amazing at melting tough grease all around your kitchen like your stovetops, cabinets or even your oven.”

And best of all, you only need three ingredients to make it – they’re trusty staples that you probably already have in your cupboards.

According to Chantel, this mix is enough to remove grease and oil stains, as well as smelling fresh, which will make your whole kitchen smell much more welcoming.

To make this concoction, all you need to do is grab a spray bottle and add in one cup of warm water, followed by half a cup of white vinegar and one tablespoon of either lemon juice or washing up liquid.

Then, give it a good shake to combine all of the ingredients together.

Your homemade spray is now ready to use wherever you need it in the kitchen, although Chantel issued a word of warning about using it on certain surfaces.

She said: “Use discretion when using white vinegar on marble or pourous surfaces.”

However, for other surfaces like stainless steel or vinyl, this is fine to use. Chantel showed various clips of herself using the spray and a cloth to clean her cupboards, splashback and stovetop – all of which soon looked as good as new.

She added: “This mix is powerful at cutting through grease and grime around your kitchen, and leaves your kitchen shiny and deodorised.”
