These old PS2 games could net you hundreds of pounds – check your cupboards now | Gaming | Entertainment

After an expensive Christmas and New Year, January is time to tighten the purse strings and save some cash.

In fact, with sites like eBay and Vinted making it free to sell, alongside high-street retailers like CEX buying your old tech, you can actually make some money while saving cash.

Video game collecting is big business among retro gaming fans, with some games and consoles fetching thousands of pounds.

As you can see from the list below, this includes classic PlayStation 2 games, which can be worth a ton of money, especially if they’re in good condition and with manuals.

At the time of writing, CEX is willing to pay between £290 to £520 for copies of terrible shooting game Gun Club.

Horror game Kuon is worth upwards of £487, while action game Michigan: Report From Hell could net you £373.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories could be worth £302 depending on the condition, while triple-pack Silent Hill Collection is worth £127 (which is annoying because I used to own that).

Elsewhere, you can make big bucks by selling the likes of Rule of Rose, Armored Core: Last Raven and Samurai Western.

If you used to collect shoot-em-ups, titles like Homura, Dragon Blaze and Gigawing Generations are worth a decent amount of money.

The prices below are correct at the time of writing, but are prone to fluctuate depending on supply and demand. Likewise, the amount you get depends on condition.
