Tommy Fury appears to be gearing up for a bout against former gang leader turned professional boxer, Matt Floyd. Floyd, who boasts a professional record of 15-1, announced on his Instagram that he will be squaring off with Fury on March 29.
The Australian pugilist shared a promotional poster featuring both fighters, suggesting they are set to headline Misfits 21. Despite rumours that the event would take place in Manchester, Floyd’s post suggests the fight will be held in London, although an exact venue has yet to be confirmed.
“The date for the fight has now been moved to March 29, this fight is a culmination of everything I’ve worked, and no matter what obstacles or delays come my way the goal will remain the same,” the post began. “I’ve never had a social media team or any real help. I’ve built everything myself, figuring it out as I went, with a bit of support along the way. In my 20s, I was in prison for leading a gang, but it was all part of my effort to do something positive for society. I grew up surrounded by pedophiles, and that experience is what drove me to protect the innocent. No one knows where I’ve come from or what I’ve been through, but I’ve always kept pushing forward.”

Despite the announcement on Instagram, his rival Fury has yet to respond to the upcoming match. Although Floyd is relatively unknown in the boxing world and on the Misfits scene, he has a substantial following in the South East Asian and Oceanian boxing circles. Having made his debut four years ago in his home country, ‘The Jedi’ has primarily fought in his beloved Australia, with recent bouts taking place in Thailand.
His only career defeat was a narrow split decision loss to Sirimongkhon Iamthuam last October. However, he managed to redeem himself just two months later with a decisive victory. Floyd is a former president of the Western Australia chapter of the Lone Wolf Biker Gang. These days, he owns Pinkys Gym in Western Australia and dedicates his time to mentoring young people, helping to keep them off the streets and out of trouble.
As for Fury, ‘TNT’ has been out of the ring since his victory over KSI in 2023. He was scheduled to face former UFC star Darren Till earlier this month, but withdrew from the clash after Till threatened to kick him in the face. Following recent surgery, the British boxer is looking forward to a busy 2025 in the ring. While details about the upcoming card are scarce, Misfits star Lil Cracra recently announced that he will be fighting Deen the Great on the same card in March, indicating that plans for the full event are well underway.
