The good news is that Fortnite is getting a huge new update to usher in OG Chapter 1, Season 2.
The bad news is that fans will need to sit through hours of server maintenance before being able to check out the new content.

According to an Epic Games social media post on X, downtime will begin on Friday morning.
“Meet you at Tilted Towers?” reads an Epic post. “Downtime for v33.30 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”
For UK fans, Fortnite will be taken offline at 9am GMT, although matchmaking will be disabled slightly earlier at around 8.30am.
While there’s no official end time for server maintenance, Fortnite servers are expected to come back online at 11am GMT.
Due to the size of the update and amount of new content, there’s a chance downtime could last a little longer, so don’t be surprised if it remains offline until midday.
In terms of new content, the headline new feature is the start of Fortnite OG Chapter 1, Season 2.
