Dion Dublin offered to take an angry Tottenham fan outside Villa Park during the BBC’s coverage of the FA Cup. The broadcaster’s half-time analysis was disrupted by an away support banging on the studio.
Spurs trailed 1-0 against Aston Villa in their FA Cup fourth-round tie. Jacon Ramsey squeezed a shot under Antonin Kinsky inside the opening minute.
It was the latest setback suffered by Ange Postecoglou’s side. Some fans are growing frustrated with the performances of the team, and seemingly took out their anger on the BBC’s studio inside Villa Park.
Pundits Dublin, Jermain Defoe and Joe Hart were analysing the game alongside presenter Mark Chapman when loud banging could be heard outside the studio. Dublin and Defoe looked stunned and it continued for several moments before Chapman finally acknowledged what was happening.
Interrupting Hart, the soon-to-be Match of the Day co-host said: “They’re angry they’re behind. Take us through, Dion, take us through the goal…”
A clearly irritated Dublin then threatened to take the individual outside the stadium, saying: “I’ll take him outside in a minute.”
Chapman quipped: “If you do that, I’ll be just behind you, alright?”
Former Spurs striker Defoe attempted to get the person’s attention but the banging continued intermittently. It then stopped but it is unclear what happened to the person in question.
