Astro Bot is getting a big new update on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Available from 2pm GMT on February 13, the latest Astro Bot update continues the trend of adding free content for existing players.
The new update adds the Tick-Tock Shock level, which was first seen during a PlayStation XP Tournament earlier this year.
In addition to the new stage, the latest Astro Bot patch also improves things on PS5 Pro. If you own Sony’s powerful new console, then you’ll be pleased to hear that the update ensures things run at 60 frames-per-second with the best resolution enabled.
Even better news is that the addition of Tick-Tock Shock is the first of five free levels joining the game in the coming weeks.
The Thrust or Bust stage will join Astro Bot at 2pm GMT on February 20, followed by Cock-A-Doodle-Doom on February 27, Hard to Bear on March 6 and Armored Hardcore on March 13.
According to developer Team Asobi, the new stages will provide hardcore players with a far greater challenge than the free Christmas stage.
Team Asobi explains more: “Unlike our last update Winter Wonder, which was a walk through the Xmas park, this new update features harder levels to test your jumping skills.
“Each level comes with a brand-new Special Bot to rescue and, once that’s done, can be replayed in Time Attack mode with online rankings.”
The only drawback is that you’ll need to complete the main game in order to access the bonus stages.
Speaking of Astro Bot, the latest reports suggest Sony is about to release a new PS5 console bundle with the game included.
Sony didn’t announce the bundle during the latest State of Play event, instead focusing on big announcements like the latest Housemarque game.
Titled Saros, the new game shares similarities with previous Returnal, but is a standalone IP.
Elsewhere, Sony used the event to announce the Borderlands 4 release date, a new Days Gone remaster, and even the February PS Plus Extra releases.
