SEGA’s new Like a Dragon game is shaping up to be one of this year’s biggest new releases on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
Not only does Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii take the series into a new and unexpected direction, but with everything from ship combat to old-school arcade machines, it features potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay.
The good news is that fans can get an early taste of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza with the release of a brand new demo for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC (via Steam).
Announced during the recent PlayStation State of Play event, the free Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza demo has a February 13 release date and a 3pm GMT UK launch time.
According top SEGA, the demo gives fans the ability to explore two of the game’s locations.
You can try both the Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles, tackle powerful bounty enemies and even “challenge four ship and deck battles in the Pirates’ Coliseum”.
The demo also includes various customisation options, not to mention the karaoke mini-game, complete with three songs.
If you enjoy the Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza demo, the full game will be available from February 21.
Fans can purchase two separate versions, including the £64.99 Deluxe Edition with a ton of bonus content.
This includes new items and outfits, as well as ship customisation options and extra songs for karaoke.
The release of the new Pirate Yakuza demo wasn’t the only Like a Dragon news announced during the State of Play.
SEGA confirmed that Dave the Diver will add the Like a Dragon Ichiban’s Holiday DLC this April.
The add-on sees Kasuga Ichiban take a well-deserved break at the Blue Hole, alongside the bartender of the “Survive Bar”.
Needless to say, things take a dark turn when the duo uncover a sinister plot involving dolphin poaching.
“A crossover between Dave the Diver and Like a Dragon wouldn’t be complete without some iconic mini-games from both worlds!” SEGA explains.
“Cheer along with Ichiban’s unforgettable karaoke performances and recruit familiar faces from the Like a Dragon series to join your restaurant staff. Can you recognise where they all come from?”
