The Queen’s Club already hosts a yearly ATP event, which has consistently been voted the best tournament in the 500 category. And the women will now descend on the capital from June 7 to 15.

British stars Raducanu and Boulter will be joined by recent Australian Open champion Madison Keys, four-time Major winner Naomi Osaka, and world No. 11 Daria Kasatkina.

The WTA 500 at Queen’s is a brand new tournament for 2025. Although it takes place the week after the French Open, organisers have had no trouble enticing fan favourites and big names.

“It hasn’t taken much to get WTA players excited about it and I think you can see that with who is signed up to it,” Robson told Express Sport.

“For the Brits, it’s a no-brainer to play this one. Most of them have been at Queen’s in the past watching the men’s event – whether it’s as a 10-year-old, like in my case, I came to this tournament for the first time as a 10-year-old.

“And then speaking to them, they know how good it is. So from the Brit perspective, they’re all really excited to play it, especially Katie and Emma.

“Knowing that they can stick around in the UK throughout the grass season, knowing that there’s a 500 in the first week as well, just makes it that much easier to plan.

“They can all stay at home, they’re all pretty local. So there was absolutely no convincing needed for the Brits.”

Boulter and Raducanu thrive on grass courts. The former has won the WTA 250 in Nottingham – previously played in the same week as the new Queen’s tournament – for the last two years.

Last season, Raducanu enjoyed deep runs in Nottingham, Eastbourne and Wimbledon. Both women will be keen to gain some extra ranking points at Queen’s – plus, there’s the added incentive of staying at home.

And fans will have the chance to cheer them on when they return to competition on home soil for the first time in 2021, as Robson and the tournament team are also keen to allow new audiences to watch top players in action.

“We’ve obviously got the chance to bring in new audiences to the sport,” the Olympic silver medallist said.

“We definitely want as many people as possible to come and watch and to maybe experience live tennis for the first time, and the ticket pricing reflects that.”
