Gordon Ramsay’s incredible recipe for air fryer steak with one weird ingredient


Air fryers have taken the world by storm ever since they first came on the market.

They are now an essential item in the kitchen for many who want to heat food quickly.

For the doubters, however, Gordon Ramsay’s incredible recipe ensures a mouth-watering steak using one unconventional ingredient – coffee.

Known as the “Coffee & Chili Rubbed Ribeye Steak,” this recipe serves four people and includes pan-roasted fingerling potatoes and compound herb butter.

Ingredients needed for the Ribeye include:

  • ¼ cup Ancho chili powder
  • ¼ cup finely ground espresso
  • Two tablespoons of paprika
  • Two tablespoons of dark brown sugar
  • One tablespoon of dry mustard
  • One tablespoon of kosher salt
  • One tablespoon of ground black pepper
  • One tablespoon ground coriander
  • One tablespoon of dried oregano
  • Two tablespoons of ground ginger
  • Two tablespoons of Aleppo pepper
  • Four boneless Ribeye steaks that are two Inches thick and approximately 1.5 pounds each

For the pan roasted fingerling potatoes, you will need:

  • One pound of fingerling potatoes
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • Two tablespoons of butter
  • One shallot quartered
  • Two garlic cloves smashed
  • Two thyme sprigs
  • Two tablespoons of chives and parsley leaves minced for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the compound herb butter, the ingredients include:

  • One cup of butter at room temperature
  • One tablespoon of parsley, finely chopped
  • One tablespoon of garlic, minced
  • One tablespoon of a shallot, finely diced
  • One tablespoon of chives, finely minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

To make Gordon Ramsay’s Coffee & Chili Rubbed Ribeye Steak, you will need to combine the room temperature butter, parsley, garlic, shallot and chive in a bowl and mix thoroughly, adding salt and pepper to season.

Next, spoon the mixture onto a sheet of cling film and roll it into a log. Then, twist the ends and refrigerate for at least two hours until firm. Cut into pats and reserve until the steak is cooked.

The next steps include combining all of the spices in a bowl and thoroughly mixing to combine.

Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees and generously rub the dry spice mixture into the rib-eye steaks and then season with salt and pepper.

Let sit at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes or as long as possible and finally, cook the steak for 10 minutes.

Open the drawer, flip the steak, and cook for an additional 10 minutes and repeat with the remaining steaks.

Top each steak with a pat of herb butter, sit back and enjoy a delicious air fryer steak like no other.
