8-minute croissant with surprise ingredient – ‘best air fryer recipe’

With Easter fast approaching, it’s that time of the year when shops are starting to sell creme eggs once more, to the delight of many. These tasty chocolate y treats are a perfect choice for a sweet snack, but they can also be used as an ingredient in your baking.

From being added to rocky roads to being stuffed into cookies, creme eggs can add just that extra touch of deliciousness to many popular desserts. And now, Nathan Anthony, author of the Bored of Lunch recipe books, has shared a recipe for creme egg croissant balls – which are ready in just minutes. His followers were delighted by this, with one writing: “omg it is time to make these again.”

While another added: “Dear God what have you showed me. This will be my new identity.” And a third wrote: “This has to be the best air fryer recipe.”

Although there were some commenters who highlighted that this isn’t the healthiest of recipes, with one TikTok user quipping: “On a diet. Came on tiktok to find healthy recipes for dinner tomorrow. I hate you.”

Another wrote: “And this why we have a diabetes epidemic.” However, Nathan was quick to point out that although these creme egg croissant balls shouldn’t be a regular part of your everyday diet, they do only contain 340 calories.

Air Fryer Creme Egg Croissant Balls

Ingredients

  • One creme egg per serving
  • Puff or ready-roll croissant pastry
  • Egg, beaten with water or milk

Method

Cut the ready-roll croissant pastry according to instructions and place a creme egg inside each section. Roll up, separating each section from the other.

Eggwash the pastry then put it in the air fryer and cook at 170 for eight minutes. If using an oven rather than an air fryer, double the cooking time.
