Sky Sports are shaking up their Formula 1 punditry team and has confirmed that Jacques Villeneuve is set to make a comeback for more appearances in 2025, alongside introducing a fresh face to the line-up. F1 enthusiasts in the UK can look forward to continued comprehensive coverage by Sky, which has successfully secured broadcasting rights until 2029. This means the regular roster of seasoned presenters will be gracing television screens throughout the season with insider insights and updates.
One notable absence will be Damon Hill, as he disclosed in February his decision to step back from his role with Sky. In 1996, the world champion explained he sensed a shift towards “younger, fresher names” at Sky, suggesting a feeling of being “pushed back” by the network.
Stepping into the punditry spotlight, Jamie Chadwick is joining the Sky team. A three-time W Series titleholder, Chadwick, aged 26, will juggle her debut on the punditry stage with competing in the European Le Mans Series in 2025.
Also securing his return, 1997 F1 world champion Villeneuve will once again grace British screens, following a duo of polarizing stints in 2024. Villeneuve is no stranger to stirring the pot with his direct commentary style, which last year resulted in a memorable confrontation with Daniel Ricciardo at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Villeneuve previously shared his enthusiasm about his collaboration with Sky Sports, saying: “I had an absolute blast! It was so fun, it was a big group but a really good group. Of course, I would be happy to do more.”
Sky retains its core presenting and reporting team, with Simon Lazenby leading the line-up and Natalie Pinkham and Rachel Brookes offering support. Ted Kravitz remains a fixture as one of the pit lane reporters, alongside Craig Slater who continues as Sky Sports News’ F1 correspondent.
David Croft, whose voice has become synonymous with F1 broadcasts, keeps his position as the lead commentator, with Sky having announced that Harry Benjamin will resume his role as deputy, indicating Croft will not cover every race in the 2025 calendar.
Martin Brundle, recently honoured with an OBE, remains a key part of the punditry team at the age of 65. He is set to continue thrilling fans with his famed grid walk feature before each race he attends.
